Crochet Pattern

Sole

  1. Make Two Soles:
  • With Rug Yarn and No. 2/0 hook, ch 27 (29, 31).
  • 1st rnd: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next 11 (12, 13) ch, sc in next 2 ch, half dc in next 11 (12, 13) ch, 6 half dc in last ch. Working along opposite side of starting chain, make half dc in next 11 (12, 13) ch, sc in next 2 ch, half dc in next 11 (12, 13) ch, sc in last ch. Do not join rnds.
  • 2nd rnd: 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 (14, 15) sts, half dc in next 28 (30, 32) sts of toe end, increasing 5 sts evenly spaced. Sc to end of rnd.
  • 3rd and 4th rnds: Sc in each st around, increasing 5 sc evenly spaced across the toe and 3 sc evenly spaced across the heel.
  • With wrong sides facing, sew two soles together.
  1. Repeat the above steps to create the second sole.

Top

  1. Toe Section:
  • Using “Knit-Cro-Sheen” and No. 6 hook, ch 20.
  • 1st row: Work 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, ch 2, 2 dc in same ch as sc. Repeat from * across, ending with sc in last ch. Ch 3, turn.
  • 2nd row: 2 dc in first sc, *skip next 2 dc, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 2 dc in same ch-2 sp. Repeat from * across, ending with sc in turning chain. Ch 3, turn.
  • 3rd and 4th rows: Repeat the 2nd row for texture.
  1. Side Sections:
  • Work 5 additional rows, increasing to 4 dc in the sc spaces for shaping. Break off at the end of the final row.
  • Attach thread to the other edge and repeat for the opposite side.

Finishing

  1. Back Seam:
  • With wrong sides facing, sc through both thicknesses of the sides to the upper edge.
  1. Elastic Edge:
  • Attach thread at the upper edge and work 2 sc in each space around, incorporating the elastic for stretch.
  1. Decorative Bows:
  • Using velvet ribbon, tie three small bows and sew them to the instep and one at the heel.
