  • Yarn: 1 skein Chadwick’s Red Heart Orlon “Fashion-Glo,” 3 Ply, Art. E.265-M, in No. M.737 Pink (1 oz. skein)
  • Crochet Hook: Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero)
  • Notions: Pink pearls for embellishment

Instructions

Starting the Collar

  1. Foundation Chain: Chain 13 inches.
  2. Row 1: Double crochet (dc) in the 4th chain from hook. Dc in the next 6 chains, 2 dc in the next chain. Repeat from * to the end. Chain 1, turn.
  3. Row 2: Single crochet (sc) in each dc across, including the turning chain. Chain 3, turn.
  4. Row 3: Skip the first sc. Dc in each sc across, increasing 12 dc evenly across the row. (To increase, make 2 dc in the same stitch.) Chain 1, turn.
  5. Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
  6. Row 5: Sc in the first sc. Chain 3, skip the next sc, sc in the following sc. Repeat from * across. Chain 1, turn.
  7. Row 6: Sc in the first loop. Chain 3, sc in the next loop. Repeat from * across, ending with a sc in the last loop. Chain 1, turn.
  8. Row 7: Sc in the first loop. In the next loop, work 7 dc; sc in the following loop. Repeat from * across. Break off yarn.

Ties

  1. Attach yarn to the left side of the neck edge. Chain 5 inches. Break off.
  2. Attach yarn to the right side of the neck edge and chain 5 inches.
  3. Work Back Across Ties: Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. Then, sc across the opposite side of the starting chain of the collar and across the chain on the other side. Break off yarn.

Finishing

  • Press the collar through a damp cloth for a smooth finish.
  • Attach Pearls:
    • Sew one pink pearl at the base of each scallop.
    • Sew three pink pearls to the end of each tie for decoration.
