Crochet Potholder with Appliquéd Apples
Materials:
- Size 5 yarn (1 ball; the pattern originally used CLARK’S O.N.T. Cotton Rug Yarn).
- Bone Crochet Hook No. 8
- Scraps of red and green felt for apple appliqué.
- A bone ring.
Instructions:
Foundation Chain:
- Chain 20 (to measure about 7 inches).
Row 1:
- Single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) in the 2nd chain from the hook.
- Skip the next chain, sc and dc in the next chain.
- Repeat from * across the row. Chain 1, turn.
Row 2:
- Sc and dc in each dc across the row. Chain 1, turn.
Repeat Row 2:
- Continue repeating Row 2 until the piece forms a perfect square. Break off and fasten securely.
Appliqué:
- Cut 1 large and 1 small apple shape out of red felt.
- Cut leaves and stems out of green felt.
