Motifs
  1. First Motif:
  • Work exactly as for the Tatted Comb Case, completing Rounds 1 and 2.
  1. Second Motif:
  • Work as for the First Motif, joining to the center picot of a chain on the adjacent motif during Round 2.
  1. Third and Subsequent Motifs:
  • Continue creating motifs and joining them as described, ensuring they interconnect symmetrically to form a rectangular piece that fits the dimensions of the felt backing.
Edging
  1. Round 3:
  • Tie ball and shuttle threads together and attach to the chain at the base of the first ring of the First Motif.
  • Work as in Round 3 of the Tatted Compact Case, creating an outer edge of chains and rings to complete the joined motifs. Tie and cut thread.

Assembly

  1. Cut a 3 x 6½-inch piece of felt. Lay the completed tatted motifs onto the felt and sew them securely, ensuring the motifs are centered and aligned.
  2. Trim away any excess felt and round the corners for a polished look.
  3. Decorate the motifs with rhinestones, placing them symmetrically for added elegance.
  4. Cut another felt piece of the same size and shape. Buttonhole stitch the edges of both felt pieces together, leaving one side open to create a pocket for glasses.
