Pattern

Diamonds (Make 6)
  1. Foundation:
  • With White, chain 2.
  • Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook. Chain 1, turn.
  • Row 2: Work 3 sc in the single crochet (2 increases). Chain 1, turn.
  • Row 3: Sc in each stitch across. Chain 1, turn.
  • Row 4: Work 2 sc in the first stitch (1 increase), sc in each stitch across, and increase 1 sc in the last stitch. Chain 1, turn.
  1. Shaping:
  • Repeat Rows 3 and 4 alternately until there are 23 sc across, ending with a Row 3. Fasten off White and attach Watermelon.
  1. Decrease:
  • With Watermelon, sc in each stitch across. Chain 1, turn.
  • Next Row: Decrease 1 sc (work 2 stitches together), sc across to the last 2 stitches, and decrease 1 sc. Chain 1, turn.
  • Repeat this decrease row alternately with plain sc rows until 1 sc remains. Fasten off.
Half Diamonds (Make 6)
  • Work as for the full Diamond using White only. Fasten off at the end of the White section.

Assembly

  1. Sew 3 Diamonds and 3 Half Diamonds together for each side, arranging so that the Watermelon points meet at the center, with Half Diamonds in between.
  2. Place the two completed sides together with wrong sides facing. Using Watermelon, sc around the edges, working 3 sc into each corner and inserting the pillow form before the opening becomes too small.
  3. Finish by slip stitching into each sc around for a polished edge. Fasten off and weave in ends.
