Painting Fire Dancer

This painting went through a lot of changes (which I talk about in my latest YouTube video). That being said, after I finished painting it, I really I loved how it turned out.

I’m contemplating adding a background. But… I’m still learning and I’m afraid that I’ll mess it up..lol. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to make art, especially if it’s using traditional methods like painting where it’s very easy to accidentally destroy all your hard work. I don’t think that’s talked about enough.

On the other hand, sometimes you also have to know when to put down the paintbrush and leave well enough alone. Which is what I ultimately decided this time.

It’s a “You gotta know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em” type of situation. (For those who don’t know: I’m referencing the lyrics in the Kenny Rogers song “The Gambler.”)
